COMCAST is reporting 10Gbps and 400Gbps speeds over a new fiber technology that allows the light to travel over a conduit of air instead of glass. This allows a 50% speed increase while lowering the latency allowing these super-fast speeds. Although not the first to attempt this in the world (Bt started playing last summer) they are the first in the United States and have accomplished testing a 40km (25-mile) test run; the longest test in the world.
